About the role
Faculty is seeking a Platform Engineer to develop the cloud architecture that supports our artificial intelligence initiatives. You will create secure, scalable environments that allow our data science and machine learning teams to deploy their work effectively within the life sciences sector.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure tailored for machine learning and data workflows.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage projects from concept to final delivery.
- Establish internal standards, best practices, and shared code repositories to support engineering teams.
- Propose new cloud-based strategies to address client-specific technical hurdles.
- Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code and reusable libraries across the organization.
- Evaluate and integrate open-source tools to improve our existing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience with both AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
- Practical knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.
- Expertise in cloud security and networking principles.
- Ability to manage client relationships, including scoping projects and gathering technical requirements.
- A scientific approach to problem-solving, including testing assumptions and seeking evidence-based improvements.

Practical notes
The interview process consists of a 30-minute talent screen, a 90-minute pair programming session, a 90-minute system design interview, and a 60-minute commercial interview.
