About the role

Faculty is seeking a Principal Designer to lead and refine our design discipline within the Applied AI division. This role balances high-level strategic client consulting with the internal development of our design frameworks and team capabilities.

What you'll do

• Lead the evolution of product and service design standards across the Applied AI department.
• Manage billable client projects by defining project scope, strategy, and high-level deliverables.
• Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders at client organizations.
• Establish career progression paths and skill frameworks for the design team.
• Collaborate with business development to identify new product opportunities and assemble project teams.
• Promote human-centered design principles to ensure AI solutions meet real-world user needs.

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing design functions in fast-paced settings.
• Strong consulting background with the ability to navigate complex enterprise environments.
• Deep knowledge of product architecture, user experience, and service design.
• A pragmatic approach to integrating AI and data-driven tools into the design process.
• Entrepreneurial mindset focused on demonstrating the commercial impact of design.
• Ability to manage both hands-on project work and long-term team mentorship.
