About the role
This role provides essential operational and administrative support for the contract negotiation team. You will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of payer contracts, ensuring smooth initiation and implementation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Submit new contracts for providers and organizations to commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers.
- Track the progress of contract applications and follow up with payers to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract submissions and negotiations.
- Organize and manage electronic contract files and related documentation.
- Offer administrative assistance to Contract Negotiators throughout the contracting process.
- Coordinate contract renewals, modifications, and terminations as needed.
- Work with internal departments like Credentialing, Revenue Cycle, and Finance to implement new agreements.
- Research reimbursement rates using payer fee schedules and public resources.
- Manage the shared contracting email inbox.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in healthcare administration, provider contracting, medical billing, revenue cycle, or a similar healthcare support role.
- Experience submitting credentialing applications for commercial payers, Medicaid, and Medicare.
- Basic understanding of payer agreements.
- Prior experience interacting directly with payers.
- Experience following up with payers regarding application status.
Nice to have
- Associate's degree or some college coursework.
- Experience with commercial insurance and/or government payers.
- Familiarity with payer credentialing and enrollment workflows.
- Experience using payer portals and researching payer-specific requirements.
- Experience with electronic document management systems.
