About the role
Exa is seeking a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to develop programs that convert new developer signups into active users and foster enterprise opportunities. This role involves managing two distinct lifecycle motions: rapid activation for self-serve developers and sustained engagement for enterprise accounts. The ideal candidate will use AI to accelerate workflows and ensure efficient operation across both tracks.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Drive developer activation from signup to their initial successful API call and consistent early usage.
- Design product-triggered messages, onboarding sequences, and interventions to re-engage stalled users.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to enhance the overall onboarding experience.
- Manage long-term engagement journeys for enterprise accounts, including persona-based education and buying committee involvement.
- Develop strategies to reactivate dormant accounts and opportunities.
- Oversee webinar audience strategy, promotion, segmentation, and follow-up to ensure meaningful next steps.
- Establish clear segmentation across various user types, leveraging product behavior and account context.
- Set quality standards for all lifecycle communications, focusing on clear, relevant, and engaging content.
- Implement an experimentation roadmap and report on lifecycle performance, using consistent company metrics.
- Create AI-powered workflows for drafting, personalization, audience research, and journey quality assurance.
Requirements
- 5+ years in lifecycle, growth, email, or marketing automation within a B2B technology company, with direct program ownership.
- Demonstrated experience building both self-serve product-led motions and enterprise nurture programs, understanding their distinct needs.
- Strong expertise in email marketing, capable of showcasing and explaining past campaign strategies.
- Proficiency in using product behavior and account signals to trigger and personalize lifecycle programs.
- Credibility with a developer audience, understanding how to create effective marketing communications for engineers.
- Proven success in improving activation, engagement, pipeline progression, or reactivation through owned programs.
- Experience supporting webinars or virtual events through audience strategy, promotion, and post-event conversion.
- A disciplined approach to experimentation, including running tests, analyzing results, and implementing changes.
- Strong analytical skills to build reports, investigate performance, and interpret data accurately.
- Working knowledge of deliverability, consent management, and list hygiene.
- A proven AI builder mindset, having implemented automations and workflows using LLMs and other tools.
Nice to have
- Experience at an API-first or developer tools company with a free tier.
- Fluency with product analytics and event-triggered messaging based on usage data.
- Experience building PQL programs and collaborating with Sales on product-led pipeline.
- SQL proficiency or comfort with pulling and validating segments.
- Experience with enterprise buying committees and account-based nurture.
- Experience with webinar or virtual event platforms at scale.
- Familiarity with hybrid PQL and MQL models.
- Experience in a high-growth environment where processes are still being established.
