About the role
This role involves establishing and expanding exa's presence across the EMEA region through strategic field events. You will be the first dedicated field marketing hire in Europe, responsible for building the program from the ground up and tailoring it to diverse European markets. This position requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution to engage enterprise buyers.

What you'll do
- Develop and implement the EMEA field marketing strategy, including market selection, event formats, and quarterly scheduling, in collaboration with the EMEA sales team.
- Manage the entire event lifecycle across multiple countries, from initial concept and vendor selection to on-site execution and post-event analysis.
- Cultivate strong relationships with EMEA sales representatives to align on target accounts, invitation strategies, and in-deal events, driving meeting generation.
- Oversee post-event activities, including lead capture, timely handoffs, and follow-up processes, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data regulations.
- Administer the regional budget, negotiate vendor contracts in various currencies, and ensure adherence to local compliance and invoicing requirements.
- Document successful strategies, vendor relationships, and market-specific insights to create a comprehensive playbook for future European team members.
- Utilize AI tools to streamline operational tasks such as targeting, personalized outreach, vendor research, translation, and event summarization.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience in field marketing or event marketing within a B2B technology company, with direct ownership of multi-country European programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in event management, including detailed knowledge of event logistics and problem-solving during live events.
- In-depth understanding of EMEA market nuances, including differences in buyer behavior, venue expectations, and attendance patterns across various countries.
- A strong focus on pipeline generation, with the ability to discuss metrics like cost per qualified attendee.
- Proven track record of successful partnerships with sales teams, including navigating differing opinions on event strategies.
- Ability to operate independently and proactively, managing responsibilities across different time zones from a remote headquarters.
- Practical knowledge of GDPR regulations as they apply to event data and marketing consent.
- Experience using AI to automate operational tasks and improve efficiency in marketing activities.
Nice to have
- Experience establishing a new region from scratch for an early-stage or US-based company.
- Proficiency in additional European languages.
- Background in organizing events for both technical/developer and enterprise audiences.
- Skills in negotiating conference sponsorships at major European technology events.
- Experience hosting executive roundtables for senior technical leaders in multiple countries.

Practical notes
Visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates. The role is based in London with regular travel across EMEA and occasional visits to the San Francisco headquarters.
