About the role
Everstar is hiring a Hardware Engineer to join our R&D unit focused on MilTech solutions. You will contribute to the design, testing, and mass-market scaling of hardware that has already proven its reliability in hundreds of thousands of missions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create electrical schematics and multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer.
- Design boards for motor controllers, IMU sensors, video modules, and power distribution systems.
- Architect devices optimized for mass production.
- Select components based on market availability and supply chain constraints.
- Refine PCB designs to meet EMI/EMC standards, thermal requirements, and cost targets.
- Generate manufacturing documentation including Gerber files, Pick and Place data, assembly drawings, and BOMs with alternatives.
- Develop testing procedures for hardware validation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PCB development, ideally involving serial production projects.
- Proven track record of bringing electronic boards to the manufacturing stage.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or KiCad.
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design plus power electronics.
- Practical experience with DC/DC converters, microcontrollers like STM32 or ESP32, and communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
- Expertise in PCB routing, including high-speed signals.
- Experience with board bring-up and debugging.
- Familiarity with sourcing components via Mouser, Digi-Key, LCSC, and local distributors.
- Ability to manage BOM risks, identify EOL/NRND components, and select functional equivalents.
- Knowledge of SMT assembly technological limitations.
Nice to have
- Experience assembling and configuring UAVs.
- Knowledge of BLDC control algorithms like FOC.
- Background in video interfaces including MIPI CSI, I-PEX, and microcoaxial cables.
- Experience navigating CE or FCC certification processes.
- History of coordinating with contract PCB manufacturers.
