About the role
Ethos Life is seeking a driven leader to guide our Term Life Insurance Sales division. This role involves shaping the strategic direction and operational execution of our largest sales unit, overseeing multiple management and sales teams. The objective is to grow our sales force by attracting and training skilled agents.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the Term Life Insurance Sales department, managing various teams and driving performance metrics.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for production, activity, efficiency, and quality, cultivating a data-informed culture of accountability.
- Lead, develop, and expand a high-performing group of licensed agents and managers, focusing on talent acquisition, career development, and performance culture.
- Create and refine sales strategies, scripts, and operational approaches.
- Implement coaching programs for managers and agents, including call reviews, shadowing, and performance improvement plans.
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams on shared testing and experimentation initiatives.
- Develop staffing plans with Finance and Marketing to ensure adequate coverage, ramp-up capacity, and productivity goals are met.
- Design and adjust compensation structures to align agent and manager incentives with business objectives.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of sales leadership experience, with direct oversight of inside sales teams of 30 or more individuals in a business-to-consumer or high-volume direct-to-consumer setting.
- Demonstrated success in managing a sales organization, consistently exceeding revenue targets and scaling operations through headcount growth and process improvements.
- Significant experience in term life insurance or related protection products is highly preferred. Backgrounds in B2C financial services, insurtech, or high-velocity consumer sales are also valued.
- Experience in developing and managing agent compensation plans, performance management systems, and large-scale staffing models.
- Proficiency in forecasting, pipeline management, and modern CRM and telephony systems such as Salesforce or Regal. Ability to translate data into actionable steps.
- Proven ability to coach and develop talent, with a history of building manager capabilities and fostering high-performance team environments.
- Strong collaborative skills, adept at using data and customer insights to influence Product, Marketing, and Operations departments.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment, demonstrating initiative, ownership, and a builder's mentality.

Practical notes
- US national base salary range: $119,000 - $210,000.
- Compensation is determined by role, level, and location. The displayed range represents the target for new hires across all US locations. Individual pay is influenced by work location, job-related skills, experience, and education.
