Research Analyst

About the role

Erg seeks a technical analyst to support domestic projects focused on public health, environmental policy, and worker safety. You will assist senior staff by applying data analysis and research methods to evaluate government programs and regulatory impacts.

What you'll do

• Clean, merge, and visualize large data sets using statistical software.
• Apply AI, machine learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to project tasks.
• Perform technical literature reviews to support regulatory and policy analysis.
• Assist with cost-benefit analysis and program evaluations using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
• Conduct primary data collection through web surveys, field surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Draft project reports, memoranda, presentations, and quantitative models.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematical Economics, or Sociology.
• Ability to manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Skills & tools

• Coding and predictive analytics: R, Python, SAS, STATA, C, or C++.
• AI implementation: RAG and machine learning tools.
• Research methods: Technical literature review, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
