Environmental Scientist/GIS Analyst

About the role

Erg is looking for an environmental scientist to join the Ecological Services team in Golden, Colorado. You will work under the guidance of senior staff to manage data, conduct field research, and produce technical documentation for various projects.

What you'll do

• Clean, manage, analyze, and visualize datasets to support project decision-making.
• Perform QA/QC procedures and interpret results.
• Execute terrestrial and aquatic field surveys using electronic data capture tools.
• Collect, handle, and process environmental samples including water and soil.
• Write technical reports and documentation regarding field findings and analytical results.
• Maintain and operate field equipment and vehicles.
• Travel to remote locations for extended periods to conduct fieldwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in environmental science, biology, geology, or a related field.
• 1 to 4 years of professional experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of scientific principles and environmental concepts.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel as required.

Skills & tools

• GIS: ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS.
• Programming: R, Python, SQL.
• Microsoft Office suite.
