About the role
Equip is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee its compliance program. This role involves collaborating across the company to ensure adherence to complex healthcare regulations and to continuously improve risk management processes.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Investigate policy breaches and violations of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and fraud concerns.
- Identify and evaluate compliance risks by examining internal procedures, new initiatives, and regulatory changes.
- Create monitoring programs to gauge the effectiveness of risk reduction strategies.
- Advise personnel, leaders, and executives on intricate regulations and industry standards.
- Work with policy owners to develop and update operational policies addressing organizational risks.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, payers, and legal counsel for accreditations and audits.
- Develop and deliver compliance training for patient-facing teams, simplifying complex topics for practical application.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years in healthcare compliance, ideally within a fast-paced startup environment.
- At least 2 years of experience conducting, documenting, and resolving complex compliance and privacy investigations.
- Demonstrated success in managing external audits, pinpointing root causes, and coordinating corrective actions.
- Solid understanding of healthcare laws such as HIPAA/HITECH, state Medicaid rules, and OIG guidelines.
- Ability to think critically and manage multiple high-priority tasks in a dynamic setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to translate regulations into actionable guidance and build relationships.
