Principal Software Engineer at Enverus.
About the role
Enverus is seeking a senior technical lead to influence the architecture and development of our Power and Energy Transition product suite. You will guide engineering strategy, solve high-level system challenges, and foster technical excellence within the team.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own the design and execution of major system features and infrastructure upgrades from initial concept to production.
- Write and maintain high-quality code while establishing standards for architecture and peer reviews.
- Oversee operational readiness, including testing protocols, observability, and CI/CD workflows.
- Resolve critical production issues and manage technical debt.
- Mentor engineers through active pairing, design critiques, and technical guidance.
- Partner with product managers to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building large-scale, production-ready systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in Python, TypeScript, Angular, RDBMS, or AWS.
- Background in leading architectural design for multi-component systems.
- Strong commitment to testing, code quality, and operational best practices.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience working with mixed technology stacks, including web, desktop, and backend services.
- History of modernizing legacy systems.
- Familiarity with SOC compliance standards and building for high reliability.
- Experience collaborating with distributed or global engineering teams.

Practical notes
Success in this role is measured by measurable improvements in system reliability, performance, and developer productivity within the first 6 to 12 months. You will be expected to serve as a primary technical advisor for design and architecture decisions across the PET product line.
