About the role
In the fight against fraud, a curious mindset and a desire to explore deeper insights are essential. As a Senior Data Scientist on Enova's Fraud Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in our fraud prevention initiatives. Your responsibilities will include developing and refining models that identify emerging fraud patterns across our lending products, collaborating closely with the Fraud Operations team to investigate flagged applications, and continuously improving our detection capabilities based on their feedback.

What you'll do
- Design, implement, and oversee models and algorithms that identify new and evolving fraud trends across various lending products.
- Create tailored programs in Python for in-depth data analysis and predictive modeling, while also managing large datasets using SQL.
- Collaborate with the Fraud Operations team throughout the detection process, gathering data, highlighting suspicious patterns, and integrating their findings to enhance model accuracy.
- Perform ad hoc analyses on extensive datasets to identify new fraud trends and propose strategies for risk management and verification.
- Clearly communicate insights to cross-functional teams, outlining requirements and aiding in implementation.
- Contribute to the enhancement of underwriting and verification processes with a focus on fraud risk.
- Utilize AI in operational applications to improve fraud prevention workflows.
- Mentor team members and assist in aligning their work with business objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytics, applied machine learning, or quantitative modeling.
- Proven experience in fraud analytics, fraud strategy, or risk modeling, preferably within the fintech or lending sectors.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience managing models from design through deployment and monitoring using large transactional datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to translate analytical findings into actionable business strategies and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Desire to advance into a leadership position by mentoring team members and driving team initiatives.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $96,000 to $125,000. The final salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and evaluation during the hiring process, and may vary from the stated range.
