What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for various energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define system requirements and specifications for instrumentation and control systems.
- Conduct system simulations and modeling to predict performance and identify potential issues before implementation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and instrumentation, providing technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on existing control systems to enhance functionality and reliability.
- Create detailed documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and maintenance procedures for control systems.
- Analyze data from control systems to identify trends, optimize performance, and recommend improvements.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to ensure that all control systems meet safety and environmental standards.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in control and instrumentation engineering, integrating new solutions into existing systems as appropriate.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment and ensure timely delivery for project milestones.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and timelines, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering, preferably in the energy sector.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++, and experience with PLC programming.
- Strong understanding of control theory, process control, and instrumentation principles.
- Experience with SCADA systems and industrial automation technologies.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations applicable to the energy industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant field or professional engineering license (PE).
- Experience with renewable energy technologies and systems.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as they relate to industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
