Support Engineer, Anti-Cheat at Electronic Arts (EA).
About the role
At Electronic Arts, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of gaming for millions of players globally. As a member of the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Engineering team, your focus will be on enhancing our Javelin anti-cheat technology to ensure fair gameplay across various PC titles. You will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Anti-Cheat Engineering to safeguard our games, data, and infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Analyze and troubleshoot bugs, compatibility, and performance issues reported by game studios and partners.
- Create and implement solutions to enhance the compatibility of Javelin anti-cheat software across various hardware and software configurations.
- Utilize contemporary debugging tools to address technical support inquiries from customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with team members to foster fair play and uphold the security of EA's global gaming community.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in C++ or similar low-level programming languages.
- At least 2 years of experience in debugging crashes using memory dumps.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with WinDbg and DebugView.
- Proven experience developing software that is compatible with a variety of end-user hardware and software environments.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with anti-cheat technologies or security protocols.
- Experience in game development or related fields.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in C++ and other low-level programming languages.
- Strong debugging skills using tools such as WinDbg and DebugView.
- Knowledge of software development practices and compatibility challenges.
Practical notes
- Salary range for this position in Washington is between $122,300 and $158,500 USD, depending on specific location and other factors.
