Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and implement complex features for native Android applications, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Partner with firmware and hardware teams to define and integrate low-level device communication protocols.
- Lead technical design discussions with backend and machine learning teams to align on data strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming to elevate the entire team's standards.
- Optimize application performance and memory usage to ensure smooth animations and a responsive user interface.
- Participate in the entire product lifecycle from initial concept and requirements gathering to deployment and post-launch analysis.
- Write clean, testable code that adheres to strict enterprise-grade quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with the growth team to implement experiments and features that drive user engagement and retention.
- Liaise with executive leadership, including the CEO, CPO, and VPs, to ensure the technical roadmap supports strategic business goals.
- Troubleshoot critical production issues and work with on-call rotations to maintain high application availability.
- Explore emerging technologies and tools that can be leveraged to improve the development workflow and product capabilities.
- Ensure all deliverables meet pixel-perfect design specifications and provide an exceptional user experience.
- Document technical solutions and architectural decisions to ensure knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
- Contribute to a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment where adaptability and quick learning are essential.
Requirements
- Bring 6+ years of professional experience delivering complex features for native Android applications.
- Demonstrate fluency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and the MVVM and MVI architectural patterns.
- Show a proven track record of building scalable, testable, and maintainable enterprise-grade applications.
- Have hands-on experience thriving in a hyper-growth startup environment with ambiguous requirements and rapid iteration.
- Provide evidence of shipping high-quality, pixel-perfect mobile apps with buttery-smooth animations and interactions.
- Exhibit a strong focus on product quality, attention to detail, and a relentless pursuit of technical excellence.
- Display a genuine interest in the health tech sector and a passion for improving human wellness and performance.
- Have experience working with modern version control systems, such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex challenges into manageable tasks.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
Nice to have
- Demonstrate proficiency in creating highly custom and interactive UI components using Jetpack Compose.
- Bring experience developing software for hardware products, particularly within the health, medical, or IoT industries.
- Have a background working with health-related applications and peripheral devices such as sensors or wearables.
- Familiarity with health data standards and regulations related to medical software is a significant advantage.
- Experience with real-time data processing and visualization on mobile platforms.
