Principal Control Engineer

About the role

Edison Smart is developing advanced photonics and laser technology for autonomous and orbital platforms. We are seeking a technical lead to manage the control architecture for our optical sensing hardware. This role focuses on high-level design and implementation with the potential to build and manage a team as we scale.

What you'll do

• Create and refine precision control algorithms.
• Build and deploy real-time embedded control software.
• Simulate system dynamics and external environmental variables.
• Design architecture for fault-tolerant control frameworks.
• Execute hardware-in-the-loop validation and testing.

Requirements

• Demonstrated history of designing and executing control systems.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to defense-related project requirements.
• Expertise in classical and modern control theory.
• Proficiency in state estimation and filtering techniques.
• Experience working within space, autonomous systems, or laser-based industries.

Practical notes
