Staff Product Designer

About the role

EarnIn is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join the Financial Intelligence Platform team. This role focuses on enhancing the core user experience for financial flexibility and wellness products. You will contribute to the foundational design of features like bank connectivity, earnings tracking, and repayment systems.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Design and improve customer journeys, from initial account setup to earnings and repayment processes.
• Work with product managers, engineers, and data specialists to define design needs and validate solutions through testing.
• Develop and maintain design patterns and systems for consistent and clear user experiences across platform features.
• Identify and resolve usability issues in key workflows to improve clarity, user confidence, and regulatory compliance.
• Use research and user feedback to guide design strategy and prioritize impactful improvements.
• Ensure all interactions meet EarnIn's standards for reliability, trust, and regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams to ensure designs meet industry and legal requirements.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and design excellence within the team.

Requirements

• 7 or more years of experience designing digital products for consumers, with a focus on core features or functionality.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong problem-solving, systematic design approaches, and measurable improvements in user satisfaction and retention.
• Deep understanding of financial products, building user trust, and designing clear interfaces for complex processes.
• Ability to balance creative thinking with data-driven validation, including collaboration with data teams to measure impact.
• Strong communication skills for articulating design rationale to various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and current design workflows.
• Comfort working in structured environments with planned roadmaps, and the ability to complete projects effectively.
• A desire to solve real customer problems and improve financial wellness.

Nice to have

• Background in systems design, design patterns, or design operations.
• Experience improving user satisfaction and retention metrics through design solutions.
