What you'll do

• Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect the organization's IT systems and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other cyber threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures that promote security awareness and best practices.
• Monitor network traffic and system performance to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, security protocols, and incident response plans.
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff regarding IT security issues and best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
• Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in case of a security incident.
• Assist in the deployment and configuration of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Train employees on security awareness and best practices to foster a culture of security within the organization.
• Work closely with third-party vendors to ensure that their security practices align with the organization's standards.
• Analyze security incidents and prepare reports detailing findings, impacts, and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT systems administration or security engineering.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with endpoint protection solutions and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Knowledge of data encryption technologies and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with incident response methodologies and tools.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or regulated industry is a plus.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanners.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools.
• Experience with ticketing systems and project management tools.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement appropriate security measures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
