About the role
Durlston Partners is recruiting for a global technology firm establishing a new AI engineering division in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will work alongside senior leadership to architect and deploy production-grade AI systems on a global scale from the ground up.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Construct production-ready LLM applications, autonomous agents, and RAG pipelines.
- Create internal developer tools, AI infrastructure, and MCP servers.
- Assess frontier models while designing frameworks for benchmarking and evaluation.
- Establish technical standards and engineering workflows for AI development within the firm.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production AI software.
- Proficiency in Python and technical expertise in agent frameworks, tool calling, and RAG.
- Active usage of AI-assisted coding environments like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot.
- Practical experience developing MCP servers and AI agents.
- Must possess US work authorization.
- Must reside in or relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nice to have
- Fluency in Mandarin.
- A history of personal AI projects, open-source contributions, or published technical writing.
