What you'll do
- Lead the editorial team in producing high-quality, engaging content for Duolingo's language courses and supplementary materials.
- Develop and implement editorial guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across all platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to create an integrated learning experience that enhances user engagement.
- Analyze user feedback and performance metrics to refine content strategies and improve learner outcomes.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to writers and editors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and creativity.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance in all educational content.
- Manage the editorial calendar, prioritizing projects and ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in language education and digital content creation.
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for new courses and features.
- Oversee the localization of content to cater to diverse audiences while maintaining the essence of the original material.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in editorial roles, preferably within the education or technology sectors.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition principles and effective teaching methodologies.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing tools.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform content strategy and decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
