About the role
Dunedain is seeking a DevOps Engineer to develop and maintain the systems necessary for deploying and ensuring the reliability of our platform across diverse environments, including edge locations. In this role, you will create CI/CD processes, manage containerization, and oversee orchestration, enabling our team to deliver software rapidly while maintaining operational integrity. You will also focus on compliance and security, particularly in federal environments.

What you'll do
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines, container images, and orchestration processes to facilitate software deployment.
- Operate and maintain the platform in various environments, including cloud, on-premises, and edge.
- Ensure that deployments meet compliance, accreditation, and security standards, particularly for federal applications.
- Enhance the reliability, maintainability, and performance of our infrastructure as demand increases.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, secrets management, and deployment processes to minimize manual intervention.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address evolving infrastructure needs.
- Take responsibility for incident response and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure engineering, with an emphasis on operational reliability.
- Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience with on-premises or data center operations.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, networking, and principles of system reliability.
- Proficient in a systems programming or scripting language such as Go, Python, or Rust.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing software across multiple environments, not limited to a single cloud platform.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Willingness and ability to obtain a US security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience in DevOps roles within regulated environments where compliance is critical (e.g., IL5/IL6, FedRAMP, RMF, CMMC, or air-gapped/classified networks).
- Familiarity with deploying to edge or resource-limited environments with low connectivity.
- Knowledge of security and accreditation tools, including scanning, hardened base images, STIGs, or continuous monitoring.
- Military background or experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of War (DoW) clients.
- Previous experience in startups or agile teams that move quickly.
- Active security clearance.

- Competitive total compensation ranging from $140,000 to $250,000, plus 0.1-0.5% company equity, depending on experience.
