What you'll do

• Lead projects from initial concept through to successful deployment, ensuring effective implementation and continuous oversight.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members by offering technical guidance, performing code reviews, and advocating for best coding practices.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of large datasets, managing billions of ad impressions along with a multitude of variables.
• Solve unique analytical problems that standard machine learning techniques cannot address.
• Tackle complex scaling and engineering challenges as our systems produce thousands of machine learning models on a daily basis.
• Work closely with commercial and customer success teams to pinpoint new algorithm requirements or enhancements to existing algorithms.
• Streamline repetitive tasks within Scibids, potentially creating AI routines to automate manual processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our data science practices.
• Document methodologies and findings to share knowledge within the team and contribute to the broader data science community.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
• Engage in regular brainstorming sessions to foster innovation and creative problem-solving within the team.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in applied mathematics, data science, or a closely related discipline such as statistics, operations research, or machine learning.
• Between 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in the field of Data Science, demonstrating proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++.
• A keen interest in automation and a strong inclination towards making data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and derive actionable insights from complex data structures.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools that facilitate model development and deployment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL or similar database query languages for data manipulation and analysis.
• Background in deploying machine learning models in real-world production environments.
• Previous experience in leading technical projects or mentoring junior colleagues to foster their development.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools to present findings effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management practices.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Python programming language for data analysis and model development.
• Familiar with SQL for database querying and data manipulation.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker for application deployment.
• Knowledge of version control systems like GitHub for collaborative development.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud technologies, including App Engine Standard, Cloud SQL, and Google Cloud Datastore for scalable data solutions.

• This position is based in Paris (75008), conveniently located near the iconic Champs-Elysées.
• Candidates with immediate availability will be prioritized.
• The compensation package includes a competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and equity options.
• The expected salary range for this role is between €43,000 and €77,000, with the final offer being contingent on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional benefits may also be included.
• Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates, depending on individual circumstances.
