About the role
Docker is seeking a Senior Event Operations Manager to oversee the execution of its diverse event portfolio, which includes major conferences, developer roadshows, and digital activations. This role involves creating scalable operational systems and managing all logistical aspects to ensure smooth, consistent, and impactful events. You will be instrumental in turning developer engagement into business growth by refining processes and managing resources effectively.

What you'll do
- Lead the operational execution for all events, including timelines, project plans, and milestones, ensuring programs stay on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain a comprehensive event calendar to coordinate timing, resources, and interdependencies across various programs.
- Manage event registration, attendee experiences, and lead capture systems across the entire event portfolio.
- Develop and implement scalable event operations, including planning templates, run-of-show frameworks, and operational playbooks to improve execution over time.
- Oversee the event technology stack, ensuring seamless data flow into marketing and sales platforms.
- Manage relationships with vendors, agencies, and production partners, handling contracts, budgets, shipping, and onsite readiness.
- Control end-to-end event budgets, including purchase orders, invoicing, and post-event reconciliation.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Field Marketing, and Sales to translate program objectives into clear operational plans.
- Operationalize developer-focused programs and create frameworks for their expansion into new markets.
- Track event performance metrics, lead post-event debriefs, and ensure timely lead reconciliation and handoff to sales.
- Provide operational and logistical assistance to Field Marketing for regional events, roadshows, and sponsored events, covering deliverables and booth logistics.
Requirements
- Six or more years of professional experience in event management, event operations, or experiential program management.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills, with a history of coordinating complex programs involving multiple stakeholders and concurrent events.
- Ability to travel 35% of the time within North America, with potential for international travel.
- Hands-on experience managing vendors, agencies, and production partners, including contracts, budgets, and performance evaluation.
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance repeatable processes while maintaining high quality.
- Proven experience with event and marketing technology, such as registration platforms, lead retrieval, and mobile apps, and understanding of data flow into Salesforce and Marketo.
- Experience in building operational frameworks or playbooks that enable event programs to scale.
