About the role
Docker is seeking a technical leader to define the networking strategy for our Sandboxes platform. You will architect high-performance systems that support our expansion into AI-driven development and secure infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and maintain networking services for Sandboxes across local machines and cloud environments.
- Build infrastructure to support microVM orchestration, workload scheduling, and lifecycle management.
- Create data and control plane components optimized for multi-tenant agentic workloads.
- Maintain network observability, performance, and reliability.
- Coordinate with security, product, and platform groups to ship new capabilities.
- Review designs, write code, and contribute to CI/CD automation.
- Troubleshoot distributed system issues and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure with a focus on networking.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in container networking, microservices, service mesh, policy enforcement, and orchestration.
- Technical expertise in Linux networking, eBPF, DPDK, and OVS/OVN.
- Experience operating secure, observable, and highly available infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud providers including AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
- Ability to lead small engineering teams and drive technical consensus.
