Threat Investigator

About the role

You will join the Violent Actors Team to track and disrupt extremist networks and threat actors on our platform. This role involves managing complex investigations and creating new detection methods to protect our community.

What you'll do

• Direct investigations into violent extremist networks and refine disruption tactics.
• Manage projects alongside engineering, policy, and ML/AI departments to document trends and build mitigation strategies.
• Use investigative data to guide threat prioritization.
• Detect new harmful behaviors and identify weaknesses in current enforcement or policy.
• Work with program managers to improve operational readiness.
• Act as a subject matter expert for leadership and internal partners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in incident management, investigations, or threat intelligence, including a history of leading multi-stakeholder cases.
• Specialized knowledge in at least one violent or extremist threat actor ecosystem, with the ability to adapt to new harm verticals.
• Ability to define project scope and execute solutions in changing environments with little supervision.
• Experience with case management systems, data analysis tools, and ML tooling.
• Strong communication skills to explain sensitive topics to non-experts and produce intelligence reports for government, law enforcement, or external partners.
• Ability to build consensus across different teams and time zones.

Nice to have

• Fluency in additional languages, specifically those used by high-harm threat actor groups.
• Experience presenting investigative findings as actionable insights for executive audiences.
