Senior Product Designer, Consumer

About the role

The Consumer team focuses on refining the core Discord experience to help users connect and play games together. You will shape how millions of people interact through voice, video, and text while maintaining the platform's foundational design quality.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Lead design efforts across the product lifecycle, from initial concepts to final market launch.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to define user experience strategy.
• Produce wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Maintain pixel-perfect quality standards during the implementation phase.
• Manage individual project timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
• Influence product strategy and scope within your immediate team.
• Collaborate with designers across the company to ensure a consistent, scalable user experience.
• Present design concepts to leadership and peers to build consensus and gather feedback.
• Contribute to and maintain the internal Design System library.
• Test and iterate on features based on user data and product goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in consumer product design, including serving as a design lead for multiple teams.
• Portfolio demonstrating primary design contributions for both desktop and mobile platforms.
• Proficiency in Figma and high-fidelity prototyping tools such as Protopie, Framer, or Origami.
• Experience working with established design systems.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas through documentation, presentations, and prototypes.
• Active personal user of Discord, ideally with experience in the gaming community.
• Ownership mindset with a focus on driving projects forward and maintaining a low-ego approach to collaboration.

Nice to have

• Understanding of AI-assisted design workflows, including generative UI and ideation, with the judgment to refine AI outputs for production.
