About the role

Join the Ads team to help build new advertising products that enhance user experience and support game developers. This role involves developing innovative ad formats, including Quests, to drive revenue and expand the platform. You will contribute to a win-win-win ecosystem for developers, players, and Discord.

What you'll do

• Develop new ad products from the backend to the frontend that provide direct value to users through rewards.
• Create a platform for advertisers and operations teams to manage their ad campaigns.
• Implement architectural improvements to enhance the long-term maintainability of products and systems.
• Work with engineers, product managers, and designers to build engaging products.
• Utilize analytics and experimentation frameworks to optimize ad products.
• Stay informed about current industry technologies.

Requirements

• Full-stack experience with hands-on work in Typescript, React, Python, or similar technologies.
• A commitment to solving problems thoroughly rather than just shipping solutions.
• High attention to detail and ability to deliver polished products.
• Transparent communication and ability to build strong relationships with teammates.
• A mindset that views mistakes as learning opportunities and drives continuous improvement.
• 4 or more years of experience working with similar technologies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with experimentation tools and analysis.
• Experience with React Native and mobile development (iOS/Android).
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• An interest in the Discord platform.

Practical notes

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area; relocation assistance may be available. The US base salary range for this position is $196,000 to $220,500, plus equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
