Enterprise AI Platform Engineer
Job description
About the role
The Enterprise AI Platform Engineer owns the full lifecycle of turning experimental AI concepts into reliable corporate infrastructure. You will serve as the critical bridge between the AI Innovation Lab and production engineering teams. This role involves re-architecting citizen-developed AI prototypes into secure, scalable systems ready for enterprise consumption. You will design and implement the cloud infrastructure and integration patterns necessary for long-term success. The position demands collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and compliance requirements. You will establish the engineering standards that define how AI applications are built and operated. Ultimately, this role is responsible for enabling the organization to scale AI capabilities safely and efficiently.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Production Engineering and Deployment: Re-architect initial AI prototypes built with Python, Workato, and Claude Code for secure, scalable deployment on AWS or Azure. Design and implement containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes, while establishing robust CI/CD pipelines and integration APIs. Configure comprehensive monitoring and observability to ensure reliability of all production AI systems.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security by design, enforcing secrets management and data protection through encryption at rest and in transit. Establish audit logging mechanisms and conduct security reviews to maintain compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory standards.
- Solution Architecture and Design: Review AI prototypes to design production-ready architectures capable of supporting 1,000+ users. Collaborate on technology selection and integration patterns, while creating technical documentation and establishing engineering best practices.
- Developer Enablement and Support: Mentor non-engineering teams by conducting code reviews and troubleshooting prototype solutions. Build internal developer platforms and reusable infrastructure-as-code templates to accelerate development velocity.
- DevOps and Platform Enablement: Train teams on DevOps practices and create clear documentation for stakeholders. Develop reusable infrastructure components that abstract complexity from end users.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the AI Innovation Lab to translate experimental concepts into production-grade features. Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on requirements and constraints.
- Standards and Governance: Define and maintain technical standards for cloud infrastructure, API design, and security. Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise governance frameworks.
- Observability and Operations: Implement logging, metrics, and tracing to provide visibility into system performance. Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of software engineering experience focusing on production systems, full-stack development (Python/TypeScript), and RESTful API design.
- Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and building robust DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven track record of transitioning MVPs to production environments or contributing to platform engineering and developer productivity.
- Proficient in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern framework.
- Strong Python skills and deep expertise in cloud engineering (AWS/Azure equivalents).
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Proficiency in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS), relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis), and designing APIs and integration patterns (REST, OAuth, API gateways).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Disco is not currently sponsoring visas, including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, or EAD, and we are not accepting visa transfers.
Nice to have
- Expertise in specialized AI/ML platforms (LangChain, LlamaIndex, RAG) and integration tools (Workato, Zapier).
- Operational experience with Cloud Security and Observability tools, including AWS IAM, Secrets Manager, and monitoring systems like DataDog and Grafana. Familiarity with Serverless architecture (Lambda) and modern Frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
