About the role
Directive is seeking a Controller to enhance our finance operations. This position will report to the Head of Finance and is responsible for accounting oversight, financial statement preparation, and implementing process improvements to support company expansion.
Key facts
What you'll do
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including client billing and cash flow.
Oversee monthly revenue recognition and associated reporting.
Maintain the general ledger through journal entries, postings, and account reconciliations.
Lead month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including reconciliations and tax estimates.
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and conduct variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with tax filings and business registrations.
Support payroll processing and related account reconciliations.
Monitor vendor contracts and payment schedules.
Uphold internal controls and accounting standards, recommending efficiency enhancements.
Assist with client audits and external financial reviews.
Collaborate with department leaders on financial performance insights.
Work with HR on payroll system administration and employee financial processes.
Mentor and manage accounting staff and interns.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a service-based business.
Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles and monthly closing cycles.
Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Proficiency with NetSuite and Excel is required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize urgent tasks.
Nice to have
Experience in public accounting or auditing.
Exposure to automation tools and AI in finance.
Familiarity with Datarails.
