About the role
You will manage hardware and cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and operational performance. This role involves overseeing the lifecycle of a global server fleet while leading initiatives in automation, observability, and system security. You will act as a technical partner to Engineering, guiding capacity planning and infrastructure growth.

What you'll do
- Evaluate hardware options and colocation facilities to meet performance and budget goals.
- Design cloud expansion strategies across multiple regions and providers.
- Manage capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades to prevent bottlenecks.
- Deploy and automate large-scale server, virtual machine, and container fleets.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement, logistics, and data center installations.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding for network and server health.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and runbooks.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for the Infrastructure Engineering division.
- Troubleshoot complex network and system issues as an escalation point.
- Mentor team members on Linux operations and automation best practices.
- Collaborate on security hardening, compliance, and intrusion detection projects.
- Travel for on-site data center tasks when necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration or a related engineering role.
- Deep expertise in Linux environments, including performance tuning and automation.
- Proficiency with networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience with data center physical deployments, including racking, cabling, and remote management.
- Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS in hybrid environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively within distributed teams.
- Valid passport for occasional travel.
