You will lead the platformization roadmap for shared services, focusing on decoupling existing functionality into reusable components. This role directly influences developer productivity, system security, and overall platform scalability.

What you'll do

• Create a 1-3 year vision and roadmap for Shared Services.
• Author architectural design documentation for team review.
• Provide technical resource estimates for project planning.
• Manage the execution of platformization projects and ensure delivery milestones are met.
• Build tested features with appropriate hooks to minimize defects and increase engineering speed.
• Serve as the technical authority for specific product areas and solve complex engineering challenges.
• Review designs to ensure product integration aligns with business requirements.
• Present internal demonstrations of new features and explain their broader impact.
• Contribute to user-focused projects.

Requirements

• Extensive backend engineering experience with a focus on driving operational excellence.
• Proven track record of architecting complex systems across multiple roles.
• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work within agile and iterative development environments.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Practical notes

The salary range provided is for British Columbia and covers base pay only; it excludes equity, bonuses, and benefits. You will report to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering.
