About the role
You will lead the platformization roadmap for shared services, focusing on decoupling existing functionality into reusable components. This role improves developer productivity, system scalability, security, and the overall engineering experience.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create a 1-3 year vision and roadmap for Shared Services.
- Author comprehensive architectural design documentation.
- Estimate technical resource needs and project requirements.
- Oversee the execution of platformization projects and ensure delivery milestones are met.
- Build well-tested features to improve engineering throughput and reduce defects.
- Act as the technical authority for a product area and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Review designs to ensure system integration and alignment with business goals.
- Conduct internal demonstrations of new features.
- Contribute to projects focused on user experience.
Requirements
- Extensive backend engineering experience with a history of architecting complex systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven expertise in distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in highly agile and iterative development environments.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow other engineers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Practical notes
The salary range provided is for Ontario-based hires and excludes bonus, equity, and benefits. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering. Dialpad is a certified Great Place to Work.
