Sr. Software Engineer

About the role

Dialpad is seeking a technical leader to shape the architecture and execution of our Agentic AI platform. You will move our systems beyond simple copilots into autonomous workflow execution while collaborating with Product, Applied Research, and Design teams. This role reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and focuses on building production-grade systems that reason, act, and coordinate across enterprise datasets.

What you'll do

• Define the architectural roadmap for agentic infrastructure, including orchestration layers, memory, and observability.
• Develop and scale multi-modal AI agents capable of autonomous support and secure API tool execution.
• Serve as a technical anchor, establishing standards for an AI-native software development lifecycle.
• Partner with leadership to align technical output with long-term business goals.
• Research and implement new agent frameworks, retrieval systems, and safety guardrails.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including time in Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal roles.
• Background in scaling distributed systems and infrastructure prior to focusing on AI.
• Experience with LLM inference optimization and fine-tuning.
• Proficiency with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Knowledge of AI Ops, including evaluation and observability for production systems.
• Expertise in real-time streaming infrastructure and conversational AI.
• Experience with tool integration, API execution, and human-in-the-loop systems.
• Ability to manage technical debt and identify architectural risks.
• Experience building products from the ground up in ambiguous environments.
