QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Dialpad is building an AI-driven platform for customer experience that handles real-time problem resolution across voice and digital channels. The QA team maintains quality and reliability across web, mobile, and backend systems. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will take direct ownership of automation execution and quality for specific features, using modern tooling and AI-assisted development to expand test coverage and speed.

What you'll do

• Create, run, and maintain automated tests for UI and API layers using Playwright or Selenium with Java or Python
• Conduct end-to-end and regression testing to confirm release readiness
• Take full QA ownership for assigned modules, covering test planning, automation coverage, execution, and regression sign-off
• Target 70 to 80 percent automation coverage with stable, dependable test suites
• Investigate test failures, identify defects, and document root cause findings
• Apply AI-assisted tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Gemini to generate tests, debug issues, and improve coverage
• Validate AI and LLM-powered features, checking prompt and response accuracy
• Partner with engineering teams on debugging and verifying fixes
• Support CI/CD workflows through GitHub Actions

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in QA or test automation
• Strong proficiency in Java or Python combined with Playwright or Selenium
• Solid grasp of UI, API, functional, and regression testing methods
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, Postman, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools or willingness to adopt them
• Strong debugging, analytical, and communication abilities

Nice to have

• Background in VoIP, contact center, or communications platforms
• Exposure to performance or reliability testing
