About the role

Join the Quick-Commerce Global Services team in Barcelona to build the infrastructure supporting Delivery Hero's international ecosystem. You will develop scalable solutions for a platform that manages on-demand delivery for millions of users across 25 countries.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the next-generation platform for grocery and retail delivery.
• Partner with product managers and engineering leadership to support vendor onboarding and early-stage operations.
• Design and implement backend solutions for high-traffic distributed systems.
• Analyze complex technical issues, provide workarounds, and deploy permanent fixes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional groups to drive architectural decisions and technical initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Mandatory hands-on commercial experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable microservice architectures in production.
• Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers like Kafka, SNS/SQS, or Google Pub/Sub.
• Proficiency with observability tools including Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical projects across teams.
• High proficiency in English.
