About the role
We are hiring a Privacy Counsel to join our global data protection team based in Barcelona. You will provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders, manage privacy compliance programs, and ensure our operations align with international regulations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Advise on data protection matters under frameworks such as GDPR.
- Provide risk-based privacy guidance for new products and operational changes.
- Draft and negotiate data processing agreements and intra-group data transfer contracts.
- Conduct privacy due diligence for third-party onboarding and M&A activities.
- Manage data mapping, documentation, and data protection impact assessments.
- Create and maintain global privacy policies and internal procedures.
- Report on privacy matters to the management board and leadership teams.
- Perform privacy maturity audits and lead remediation efforts.
- Handle investigations or proceedings involving data protection authorities.
- Monitor AI governance trends and contribute to internal AI compliance frameworks.
Requirements
- 2 to 3+ years of professional experience in privacy or data protection.
- Bachelor degree in law or a comparable legal qualification.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Certification in privacy laws such as IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, or TÜV DPO.
- Fluency in Spanish, German, or Polish.
- Experience advising data-driven online technology companies across multiple jurisdictions.
