About the role
You will join the Core Recommendations Engineering squad to develop and manage systems that drive personalized discovery for our users. This position involves building production services in Go and Python that integrate machine learning models and experimentation platforms to serve real-time data at scale.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and operate end-to-end recommendation flows including candidate retrieval, ranking, and re-ranking logic.
- Develop low-latency, high-throughput APIs in Go and Python that orchestrate model inference and connect to vector databases and feature stores.
- Manage the full lifecycle of recommendation systems, ensuring data consistency, feature freshness, and accurate backfills.
- Maintain Tier-1 services by monitoring performance, managing error budgets, and leading incident responses.
- Implement rigorous testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance regression detection to ensure high code quality.
- Support model experimentation through A/B testing, shadow deployments, and controlled rollouts in partnership with data science and product teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade services in Go and Python at scale.
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into functional, production-ready deliverables with minimal guidance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex technical challenges into manageable tasks.
- Experience operating data-intensive or machine learning-enabled systems with strict performance and latency requirements.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to balance short-term project goals with long-term architectural stability.

- Experience with candidate retrieval systems, embeddings, and feature enrichment pipelines.
