Director of AI Platform

About the role

You will direct the ML Platform domain within the Data Platform tribe, based in our Barcelona hub. This role focuses on defining the strategy and execution for our unified AI and machine learning infrastructure while fostering an MLOps culture across our global business units.

What you'll do

• Create and communicate a long-term roadmap for our unified AI and ML platform that aligns with global business objectives.
• Design and maintain the end-to-end architecture for our MLOps platform, including operational models and technology stacks.
• Define and track performance metrics, including reliability, scalability, cost-efficiency, and user satisfaction.
• Manage and mentor engineering teams, focusing on career development and a culture of technical ownership.
• Partner with global stakeholders to identify ML requirements and secure buy-in for platform standards.
• Oversee budget allocation and manage relationships with external technology vendors.
• Stay current on emerging trends such as Generative AI to inform platform evolution.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in Data and ML leadership within high-growth technology environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
• Deep technical expertise in MLOps, including CI/CD for ML, deployment pipelines, feature stores, and scalable model serving.
• Proven ability to design and operate infrastructure for the full ML lifecycle.
• Proficiency with DevOps principles, infrastructure-as-code, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with major hyperscaler MLOps offerings.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change.

Nice to have

• Expertise in recent AI advancements, specifically LLMs and RAG frameworks.
