About the role
This role leads the Onboarding Growth team within the Shared Capabilities organization to shape the first-time user experience for new Datadog customers. You will manage a team of engineers, oversee product strategy, and implement data-driven features that help users realize value quickly.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with Product Management and Design to plan and staff team projects.
- Provide coaching and professional development for engineers at various seniority levels.
- Establish best practices for architecture, code reviews, and project management.
- Develop UX features and use rapid experimentation to improve the trial and onboarding process.
- Build data platforms to deliver personalized onboarding experiences.
- Partner with product teams to ensure a high-quality user experience across the platform.
- Create AI-assisted setup tools to automate initial configurations.
- Use analytics data to interpret user behavior and refine product UX.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of people management experience in a software engineering environment.
- Experience managing full-stack development teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and actionable feedback.
- Product-focused mindset with a history of shipping features and iterating based on customer needs.
- Experience using data and experimentation to inform product decisions.
- Demonstrated sense of ownership over team output.
