About the role
You will lead a team focused on scaling Datadog security and compliance through automation and engineering. This role bridges the gap between technical teams, legal, and compliance to integrate regulatory requirements into cloud-native infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Direct the strategy and execution of commercial security compliance, moving from manual processes to automated platforms.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and analysts, fostering technical growth and cross-functional collaboration.
- Operationalize a common control framework that integrates into Datadog architecture.
- Develop internal tools to automate evidence collection and dashboarding to reduce operational friction.
- Define and track metrics for audit efficiency, control coverage, and automation adoption.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed compliance-by-design into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services.
Requirements
- Experience managing teams in security engineering, GRC, or risk management, specifically using AI to build automation.
- Technical background with the ability to review Python and Go code, interpret architecture diagrams, and understand Kubernetes and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep knowledge of modern compliance frameworks including SOC2, HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP at scale.
- Experience in a SaaS or cloud infrastructure environment.
- Ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Systems-thinking mindset focused on root causes and downstream impacts.
- Proven ability to build relationships across legal, product, and executive teams.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working as a QSA or directly facilitating audits, including negotiating scope and timelines.
