About the role
In this position, you will be responsible for the design and development of the backend infrastructure for the Customer Experience Intelligence (CXI) platform. The focus will be on creating an AI-native framework that integrates various agents, human workflows, and enterprise tools to address intricate operational challenges effectively.

What you'll do
- Design and implement the foundational backend and infrastructure for the Enterprise Agentic Framework, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse applications.
- Create a scalable, multi-tenant platform that can extend from customer support functionalities to various domains such as Legal, HR, IT, Security, and Marketing.
- Develop sophisticated state-machine and agentic workflows that can seamlessly transition from tasks supervised by humans to fully automated processes.
- Incorporate observability features such as logging, tracing, and instant rollback capabilities to enhance AI-driven decision-making processes.
- Set and uphold standards for backend code quality, system performance, and architectural integrity to ensure a robust infrastructure.
- Work closely with Product Management, Platform Engineering, and business stakeholders to synchronize development roadmaps and address technical challenges.
- Mentor and guide engineers and subject matter experts throughout the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Engage in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for backend engineering.
- Participate in the design and implementation of APIs that facilitate communication between various system components.
- Analyze system performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the backend infrastructure aligns with overall business objectives and user needs.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance the CXI platform's capabilities.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in designing and maintaining high-throughput production backend systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in deploying microservices and backend infrastructures within complex environments.
- In-depth understanding of distributed systems and data platforms that manage large-scale traffic effectively.
- Practical experience with LLM orchestration, machine learning-assisted systems, or agentic automation techniques.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as knowledge of enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, particularly in the context of backend development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline the development process.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, particularly in relation to customer experience applications.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in backend programming languages, with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools to track system performance and reliability.
- Knowledge of API design and development, particularly RESTful and GraphQL services.
- Understanding of security best practices in software development and deployment.
