Solutions Architect

About the role

You will drive the adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform by serving as a technical advisor for customers in the financial services sector. This role involves designing complex data architectures, guiding implementation strategies, and collaborating with sales teams to solve business challenges.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with sales representatives to demonstrate how the platform addresses specific customer business needs.
• Provide technical guidance for the evaluation and deployment of Databricks solutions.
• Architect big data systems and conduct proof of concepts for strategic initiatives.
• Validate integrations between the platform, cloud services, and third-party applications.
• Create and present reference architectures, how-to guides, and application demonstrations.
• Advocate for open source projects like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog at industry events and meetups.
• Travel to customer sites within your assigned territory.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a pre-sales or consulting role focused on big data engineering and analytics.
• Proficiency in designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Ability to program and debug in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience building solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Background in data engineering technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts including SQL, OLTP, OLAP, and DSS.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics discipline, such as Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working with global system integrators, consulting firms, financial services technology, or financial services data providers.
