Pre-sales Solutions Architect

About the role

You will join the UK&I Enterprise Manufacturing, Defence and Automotive team to drive technical adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This role focuses on helping customers solve complex data challenges through expert architectural guidance and hands-on technical demonstrations.

What you'll do

• Partner with Account Executives to provide technical and business value to clients throughout the sales lifecycle.
• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in big data analytics to facilitate the adoption of the Databricks platform.
• Design and deliver complex proofs-of-concept to validate technical solutions.
• Create reference architectures, demo applications, and technical content to scale best practices.
• Lead workshops, seminars, and community meet-ups to engage the regional technical audience.
• Mentor junior team members to improve their technical and customer-facing capabilities.

Requirements

• Hands-on background in technical pre-sales or consultancy with expertise in Data Science, including traditional Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI, and Generative AI.
• Ability to architect end-to-end Data and AI solutions, specifically utilizing modern Generative AI concepts such as RAG, fine-tuning, and MLOps for LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a willingness to learn or existing knowledge of Spark.
• Experience with big data analytics technologies and major public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven track record in the full pre-sales lifecycle, covering discovery, solution scoping, and architecture design for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to commute to the London office regularly.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications in Databricks or other cloud and data technologies.
• Professional experience within the Defence, Manufacturing, or Automotive sectors.
