Manager, Field Engineering

About the role

This position leads a team of Solutions Architects within the Manufacturing segment of our Field Engineering organization. You will guide pre-sales professionals to drive customer success and revenue growth through the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

What you'll do

• Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing team of Solutions Architects.
• Maintain a consistent hiring pipeline to support organizational growth.
• Collaborate with sales leadership to achieve consumption and revenue targets.
• Ensure your team stays current with the latest data and AI technology stack.
• Facilitate technical qualifications, proof of concepts, and product demonstrations.
• Foster strong internal relationships with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
• Review complex architectures to guide customers toward scalable, effective solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing and leading technical pre-sales teams, including coaching and performance management.
• 7+ years of experience in the Data and AI sector working with technical products like machine learning, big data, data science, or data warehousing.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to technical executives regarding data infrastructure strategy.
• Technical expertise sufficient to earn credibility with engineering leadership.
• Demonstrated success in fostering team culture and cross-functional collaboration.
