About the role
This role involves working directly with customers to architect and implement production-grade data and AI systems using the Databricks platform. You will lead technical delivery, manage project scope, and bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures, including ingestion pipelines, ML/AI model integration, and custom applications.
- Act as a technical lead for strategic customer projects, managing timelines and outcomes in collaboration with engagement managers.
- Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices to influence the product roadmap and scale impact.
- Embed within customer teams to provide architectural guidance and ensure solutions align with Databricks best practices.
- Partner with internal engineering and support teams to provide feedback and resolve implementation issues.
Requirements
- Extensive background in software engineering, data platforms, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with at least two major cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with deep expertise in one.
- Significant experience with distributed computing, specifically Apache Spark and its runtime internals.
- Knowledge of MLOps, AI APIs, and CI/CD workflows for production environments.
- Ability to manage technical project delivery, including scope and stakeholder communication.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 20% of the time.
