Senior - Finance Data and AI Specialist

About the role

This position involves building and maintaining data pipelines, applications, and AI-driven tools to support the global Finance and Accounting organization. You will serve as a technical contributor within a team that merges engineering practices with deep financial domain expertise.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create and manage ETL pipelines using Python, PySpark, and the Databricks Lakehouse to automate financial reporting and core processes like revenue, expenses, commissions, equity, and tax.
• Maintain finance data lake pipelines via Databricks Jobs and Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines, ensuring accurate data validation and reconciliation.
• Develop AI-assisted tools to automate manual workflows, improve reporting, and perform anomaly detection.
• Build finance applications using Databricks Apps, Genie Spaces, and AI/BI dashboards to provide self-service analytics for stakeholders.
• Manage row-level security and data access policies across Finance DataLake datasets.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, Internal Audit, and Procurement departments to gather requirements and deliver documented technical solutions.
• Adhere to Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, and pull-request reviews to satisfy SOX change management requirements.
• Assist with the financial close process by monitoring pipelines and resolving data issues.
• Participate in user acceptance testing and contribute to team coding standards and data modeling conventions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, finance systems, or finance and accounting.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for pipeline development.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting, revenue recognition, and close processes.
• Experience integrating with financial source systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Salesforce, Zuora, or Stripe.
• Ability to translate complex finance requirements into maintainable technical outputs.
• Experience building self-service data products and BI dashboards.
• Interest in applying AI/ML techniques to financial workflows.

Nice to have

• Prior tenure at a high-growth cloud infrastructure or SaaS company.
• Experience with LLM-powered applications, Genie One, or AI/BI tools.
