Accounting Manager

About the role

Databricks is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our finance team and help modernize our accounting operations through automation and AI. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will manage monthly close cycles, lead process improvements, and support our ongoing ERP transition to SAP S/4HANA.

What you'll do

• Oversee global close processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to timelines.
• Integrate AI and automation tools into accounting workflows, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while coordinating reporting activities.
• Review journal entries, cloud-related accruals, and monthly operating expense fluctuations.
• Support M&A integration, external audits, and SOX compliance initiatives.
• Partner with FP&A, Procurement, Technical Accounting, and AP teams.
• Contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience within a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing and coaching accounting personnel.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with ERP implementations.
• Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks.
• Specific experience with SAP S/4HANA.
