About the role
Darkroom is seeking a Retention Specialist to manage email and SMS marketing for direct-to-consumer brands. This role involves developing and executing high-impact campaigns, translating data into effective strategies, and contributing to revenue growth. You will work closely with Associate Directors and various teams to deliver results for fast-growing DTC clients.

What you'll do
- Lead the implementation of email and SMS strategies for a client portfolio, coordinating with Associate Directors on goals.
- Manage the entire campaign deployment process, including writing copy, briefing, testing, quality assurance, launch, and performance tracking.
- Contribute to monthly retention marketing calendars and propose new campaign ideas to clients and internal teams.
- Present content ideas during client calls and oversee the revision and approval stages.
- Collaborate with the design team to shape campaign visuals and copy for optimal results.
- Build, audit, and improve automation flows, pop-up logic, segmentation, and app integrations.
- Analyze campaign and flow performance to suggest improvements for retention KPIs.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in email/SMS marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM, preferably with a DTC agency or e-commerce brand.
- Expert user of Klaviyo, including flows, segmentation, A/B testing, deliverability, and reporting.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different brands.
- Strategic understanding of the customer journey and how to use retention tactics to boost LTV and reduce churn.
- Comfortable presenting strategies and managing feedback directly with clients.
- Highly organized, self-managed, and capable of handling multiple accounts in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal English for clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Practical notes
This is a fully remote position, supporting a team in the EST time zone. Candidates must be based in Brazil, Portugal, or Spain.
