Senior Accountant

About the role

Cypress.io is seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant to manage core financial operations within our fully remote organization. You will take ownership of monthly closing cycles, revenue recognition, and system integrations while helping us adopt AI-driven financial workflows.

What you'll do

• Manage monthly close tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance reporting.
• Oversee quote-to-cash operations by validating deals and reconciling data between Salesforce and Chargebee.
• Ensure general ledger accuracy and improve the speed of financial reporting cycles.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits and tax compliance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Data teams to maintain revenue recognition standards.
• Implement and test new finance technology, specifically focusing on AI-enabled automation.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS companies.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Public accounting background from a Big 4 or regional firm.

Nice to have

• CPA license or active CPA candidacy.
• Experience leading or supporting ERP, billing, or revenue system implementations.
• Prior work history in a high-growth startup or scale-up.
• Experience with Revops.io.

Practical notes
