Costco IT is seeking a Director to join the Office of the CISO and lead the operationalization of global cybersecurity strategies. This leadership position focuses on translating high-level objectives into actionable roadmaps while fostering a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making.

What you'll do

• Convert strategic goals into clear delivery plans and enterprise roadmaps.
• Manage team performance, budgets, and resource optimization in partnership with Finance.
• Lead security maturity programs based on frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.
• Develop outcome-driven metrics and data-visualization capabilities for senior leadership.
• Champion agile planning practices to improve cross-functional alignment.
• Guide the organization on responsible AI adoption and risk management.
• Mentor staff and model company values through open communication.
• Oversee department administration, including scheduling and budget management.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, technology strategy, or management consulting.
• 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives in global, regulated environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing priorities in fast-paced settings.
• Proven ability to execute strategic roadmaps using agile methodologies.
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Proficiency in applying AI to cybersecurity and using data-visualization tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder influence.
• Completion of HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of Costco Pay Policies within 90 days and Leadership Development 101 within one year.
• Must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security and AI certifications.
• Background in retail, marketing, supply chain, or e-commerce.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail).

Practical notes

• Salary: $160,000 - $230,000 plus bonus and RSU eligibility.
